Seed Gathering Season encourages people to collect seeds from trees and plants to help preserve and nurture native species.

Did you know that gathering seeds can be a route to creating new woodland across London?

Autumn is the ideal time to collect seeds for conservation and biodiversity. By gathering seeds, you contribute to the preservation of local flora and support reforesting, helping future generations to enjoy a rich, varied natural environment.

The origins of Seed Gathering Season spring from the wish to protect native plant species and maintain healthy ecosystems. This season, which runs to 23rd October, is particularly significant as it coincides with the time when many plants and trees produce seeds, making it an ideal period for collection.

The collected seeds can be used for various purposes, including creating new green spaces, restoring habitats, and enhancing urban environments.
