Malcolm Goodwin

Malcolm Goodwin

Director

Malcolm is an experienced CEO and senior leader in the charity and education sector with board level experience as a Trustee and Governor for other charities and institutions. His varied career based in London, the UK and overseas, has also been in information technology and land management that included managing farms, woodlands, parkland and gardens. He has a lifelong interest in nature and the environment, and the benefits it brings to people, diversity, food security and climate mitigation.

Alice Roberts

Head of Campaigns

Alice joined CPRE London in 2015, having worked at the Local Government Association, Campaign for Better Transport, Defra, the National Lottery and the European Commission.

She has campaigned on parks, street scene, planning, transport, waste and recycling issues.

Alice lives in Hackney where she keeps a parklet and enjoys guerrilla gardening.

She tweets as @ClaptonAlice.

Phil Paulo

Phil Paulo

Director – London Tree Ring

Phil has spent a long a varied career working across the environmental sector, from humble grassroots beginnings spent working within meanwhile, public open spaces and community gardens to delivering environmental training for TCV London. He later went on to management and consultancy positions with organisations including London Wildlife Trust, regionally for Groundwork covering the East of England and for the South Downs National Parks Authority.

Most recently Phil was overseeing national tree planting projects as Head of Major Tree Planting at The Tree Council, before his appointment as the Director of The London Tree Ring. A passion for connecting people to the natural world, empowering communities to take positive action for the environment and inspiring the next generation towards careers in conservation.

John Sadler

Campaigns and Planning

John has worked in operational, outreach and campaigning roles at environmental NGOs over the past 15 years.

At the Ramblers Association, he managed the Get Walking Keep Walking project in East London. He co-ordinated marine policy and campaigns for Wildlife and Countryside Link. And he was the Humane Society International’s Operations Manager before joining CPRE London in 2021.

John lives in Hampstead, loves walking and is passionate about protecting parks and green spaces in the capital.

Laura Collins

London Friends of Greenspace Network Coordinator

Laura has many years of experience working in the charity sector and project management.

She started volunteering with local projects over 10 years ago and became really interested in green and blue spaces, which led to founding the Friends of Figge’s Marsh in Mitcham, London.

She is currently the chair of that group and co-chair of the Independent Merton Green Spaces Forum. She’s really excited to be working on GoParksLondon, and she relishes the chance to get more people excited about green and blue spaces and volunteering with friends groups.

Ian Ashman

 Honorary Secretary 

Ian is a former further education college principal in London, who now works as an executive coach and governance adviser to education organisations and charities.

He has a strong interest in the value of the outdoors for health and personal development, having previously served on a national outdoor education charity.  Ian is a regular user of green spaces in and around London, and lives in Hackney.

Rob Pomphrett

Treasurer

Rob has recently retired from a 30+ year career in banking, where he worked for a number of major financial institutions in London, New York and Hong Kong.

Rob is excited to be able to use his financial acumen to help CPRE London fulfil its mission, as he shares our enthusiasm for protecting and improving London’s green spaces. He is also active in supporting a climate action charity.

Rob studied Physics at Sussex University, is married with 2 children and lives in North London. He is a passionate user of the outdoors.

Suzanne Wise

Chair

Suzanne Wise is a lawyer and sustainability expert.  She has extensive board-level experience and has worked in both private, public regulated industry and not-for-profit organisations.

Suzanne retired from her executive career in 2022 to use her skills to drive more meaningful climate and environmental action. She is a trustee on the Global Board of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply, the world’s largest such professional body.

At board level, Suzanne brings leadership, challenge, scrutiny and insight to the organisation’s strategy via deep expertise in risk management, governance, compliance, sustainability, business transformation and stakeholder engagement.

Suzanne has lived in London most of her adult life, and is an avid user of the city’s green spaces. She currently lives in central London.

Catherine Irving-Johnstone

Trustee

Catherine has valuable experience in community, corporate and legacy fundraising and supporter engagement at two leading national charities, Cancer Research UK and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

As a born-and-bred Londoner, Catherine is committed to protecting green space for all in the city and has a particular interest in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

Tom Moore

Trustee

Tom is a Media, Branding and Digital expert. He spent 16 years at Google leading sales teams and partnerships with some of the UK’s biggest advertisers and helping them get the most of Search, YouTube and beyond.

He now advises charities and start-ups that share his passions for Sustainability and Sport.

Raised in Hackney and now living in Wanstead Tom has a passion for London’s precious green spaces. He
loves hiking and cycling and can often be found on a muddy walk with his Dog and family in Epping Forest.

Helen Monger

Trustee

Helen is a passionate champion for protecting community green space with a proven track record of leading high-profile campaigns, including successful High Court challenges and lobbying in the Houses of Parliament.

She has significant experience in the natural and built heritage sectors, assessing major grants for the National Lottery Heritage Fund.  As Director for the London Historic Parks and Gardens Trust she ran London Open Gardens, a flagship event involving hundreds of volunteers and thousands of visitors.

Helen has undertaken public speaking (lectures, ceremonies and the media); and chaired ‘town hall’ meetings. She is a proud Londoner and enthusiastic cyclist.

Owen Anderson

Owen Anderson

Trustee

Owen Anderson is an experienced and qualified energy and sustainability professional.  He is currently Head of Sustainability at OVO leading its Plan Zero and decarbonisation pathway.  He has experience in sustainability, climate risk and nature strategies across a range of sectors.  He also acts as a mentor at the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

Owen has a strong personal as well as a professional interest in the environment and lives in Hackney.

Emma Hoskyn

Trustee

Emma is UK Head of Sustainability at JLL the real estate consultancy. In this role she has spent 17 years encouraging housing and other developers to appreciate how to interact with the environment for the better, to protect what is most valuable in the fight against climate change. She has experience on Executive Boards and other taskforce positions which has given governance and collaboration experience. She has technical understanding of climate change, sustainability and the UK’s regulatory landscape, and has several relevant industry-wide roles such as being a member of CBI’s Net Zero Committee.

Emma has lived in and around London for most of her life and appreciates everything which makes it a great city – including the vast array of green and blue spaces within and around it. She describes herself as having a passion for nature.

Vivina Vincent

Trustee

Vivina is an experienced and qualified environment professional who is currently the Carbon Neutral Programme Manager at Croydon Council, where she manages the Borough’s climate change and adaptation work, providing strategic leadership on local climate initiatives. She previously worked at the Energy Saving Trust, delivering grant programmes to support the decarbonisation of transport across the UK.

Vivina began her career as a finance professional in India and made a career shift to sustainability in London after a varied lived and community volunteering experience in different Asian countries and UK. She is a climate and degrowth enthusiast, committed to the principle of working in harmony with nature, drawing on her Indian heritage.

Peter Underwood

Trustee

Peter spent more than 10 years supporting business development, campaigning and undertaking practical ecology development services with the Conservation Volunteers Charity; having previously worked in the UK civil service.

He has extensive experience working with and leading people in paid and voluntary roles as well as experience being a paid and a volunteer member of teams.  Peter lives and is active in supporting green space in South London. He is also a member of the Green Party.
