New guide to protecting green spaces launched

CPRE London has launched a new practical guide to help Londoners protect their local parks, playing fields and other green spaces which may be at risk of being lost or severely diminished due to development.

CPRE London deals with many threats to green spaces every year. While we try to assist where possible, this new resource provides some simple steps anyone can take to increase their prospects for success.

The guide includes advice about how to launch a successful grassroots campaign, influence decision-makers and even take legal action. It also explains the different types of protected designation, such as Green Belt and Metropolitan Open Land.

Chief Executive of CPRE London, Malcolm Goodwin said: “We’re delighted to launch this new toolkit and hope it will inform and empower anyone who is keen to protect their precious community green spaces”.
