Climate emergency

The climate emergency is the biggest threat facing our countryside and planet. We need to drastically reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Cities like London have a leading role to play, and the countryside can provide many of the solutions. We need to plant many more trees and hedgerows and take better care of our soils. And we’re calling on the government to improve energy efficiency, promote renewable energy and phase out fossil fuels altogether.
