Who is working on the London Tree Ring?

There are many people and organisations working together to help make the London Tree Ring a reality

This project is managed with the support of the London Tree Ring Steering Group, convened by CPRE London, which includes the Forestry Commission, Forestry England, Woodland Trust, The Conservation Volunteers, Trees for Cities, London Wildlife Trust, Common, Greenspace Information for Greater London, Thames Chase Community Forest and the GLA.

A key focus for the project is driving closer partnership working – both within this group and exploring opportunities for collaboration within the wider London Urban Forest Partnership.

Funding that has enabled us to get this far

We are grateful to the Mayor of London for supporting our work in partnership with GiGL mapping green belt woodland creation opportunities and undertaking research that has led to the development of our London Tree Ring work.

This is part of a broader project for which the GLA has funding through the Trees Call to Action Fund. The fund was developed by Defra in partnership with the Forestry Commission and is being delivered by the Heritage Fund.

Funding organisations

This is now enabling us to leverage additional funding from CPRE National and a number of smaller funders so that we can continue this work. However, additional funding is now needed for a core dedicated team to focus on and drive this project forward.
